“QBCC’s Technical Standards Unit: Improving standards in the Building Industry " with Gary Stick

Gary Stick is the Manager of the Technical Standards Unit with the QBCC and has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry.

Established 18 months ago, the Technical Standards Unit (“TSU”) conducts audits of construction work to ensure compliance with the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.  It also aims to identify non-compliant work early for the longer term prevention of defective building work in the industry.  The complementary purpose of the TSU is education and awareness of Australian Standards within the industry to achieve better building outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

Join Gary for breakfast as he talks about the purpose and role of the TSU in construction, how the process works and what outcomes have been achieved in the past 18 months.

Time:  7am for a strict 7.30am start

Breakfast will include a light hot breakfast, danishes, fruit, tea, coffee and juice.
